Ducker: 80s Inspired Arcade Game

Created with Processing and Arduino

Concept

‘Ducker’ is my modern take on the classic 1980s arcade game Frogger, which I built with Processing and Arduino.

Players control the duck’s movement using up, down, left, and right buttons, navigating through traffic and leaping onto logs to reach the top.

However, not everything is as it seems… The button direction controls switch around, giving the player a sense of limited control of the game.

The project explores how we, as humans, exert control over our lives and how we perceive our level of control. For example, how are our choices and actions influenced by others, by rules, or by external factors, like our environment?
