Virtual Reality Spa Rage Room
Created with Unity Realtime Engine and VR Headset
This Virtual Reality project explores the theme of mental health, in particular, the use of rage rooms. These are dedicated spaces where people can release pent-up emotions, by smashing objects in a controlled environment.
Are these a safe space for helping with stress relief, or do they encourage aggressive behaviour? Are they a harmless bit of fun, or could they be potentially more dangerous? They are also really wasteful and unsustainable, for which a Virtual Reality version offers a potential solution.
Shown with a Meta Quest 2 VR headset, this Unity VR experience allows players to smash objects in a calming spa, which serves as a contrast to the destructive nature of rage rooms.
Most assets were built up using simple cubes and cylinders, to create a low-poly visual. There were also a few assets imported from Unity’s Asset Store.
